This fairground gets its name from the popular Texas Crab Festival which is organized at this venue annually drawing a large crowd from across the city. Due to the popularity of Texas Crab Festival Grounds and the large number of visitors it receives annually, many motels, hotels and RV parks have opened up in the nearby areas in the recent years. This fairground is situated directly opposite to the Crystal Palace Resort.
