During the Second World War, little known but very important operations were performed by the pilots of gliders. Because of their "silent wings," they were able to get behind enemy lines undetected and provide important information to the Allied Forces. This museum in Lubbock, housed in a former airport terminal, is dedicated to showing the importance and fascinating history of this operation. A fully restored CG-4A glider is the centerpiece of museum. There is a film to help all those visiting learn more about gliders and a library and reading room also helps to educate on the same subject.
