My knowledge is far more extensive than many other teachers in the area, and being vocal/multi-instrumental~ voice, piano, guitar, sax, clarinet, flute, composition, performance, arranging and recording, and performing 'live' from Hawaii to New York. I use and have studied LogicX for recording and I also teach correct microphone technique, stage presence and performance. I also received the 'Outstanding Actor of the Year' at Eastern Oregon University for 'El Gallo' in 'The Fantastics', wrote music for the Christmas concert for the concert choir at Eastern Oregon University and was a featured pianist with the Grand Ronde Symphony. I was also asked to arrange and conduct 'The Star Spangled Banner' for the Seattle Opera at the Kingdom. I can teach classical music as well as pop, rock, country and jazz improvisation. I've performed, written and recorded all kinds of music. Interaction with students and instilling the joy, love and understanding of music, while having fun learning, is my goal as a teacher. I've taught public school, community college, universities, master classes and clinics. My students have earned 'outstanding soloist' awards at major jazz festivals and appeared in concert on major stages. I love watching the students grow, and my acronym is K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, silly.) I believe in positive reinforcement, grooming the students performance to excellence; sharing in their accomplishments and adopting them into my musical family.
