Our mission is to build community and promote economic justice. We do this via the Realities of Poverty Education Program, and 12 Baskets Cafe. The education program works with individuals who possess firsthand knowledge of life in poverty in Asheville. These poverty educators engage with various audiences, including grade schools, college classes, community/church groups, businesses, organizations, and individuals eager to gain insights into economic inequities. 12 Baskets Cafe is a free cafe where everyone is welcome to share in the abundance of rescued food. Our cafe is a gathering space for people from all walks of life – those experiencing physical hunger, those seeking a sense of belonging, and those eager to contribute.
The Museum's rooftop café serves up locally sourced food, plus coffee, tea, wine, beer, and cocktails with expansive views of the mountains and sculpture terrace. Café access is free for Members or included with Museum admission.
Sunny Point Café on Haywood Road is a family-run eatery. This café is a great place to visit with family and friends. This unique restaurant serves dishes like French toasts, waffles, sandwiches, burgers, tostadas, salads and a lot more. The restaurant features shaded outdoor seating arrangements. Their light-colored interiors, delicious meals and friendly staff will keep you coming back for more.
Bent Creek Bistro brings together the best food products of Western North Carolina and a passion for gracious service and culinary creativity! Located atop the trails and gardens of the North Carolina Arboretum (in the Education Center) the bistro offers hand-prepared locally sourced, fresh & seasonal fare to be enjoyed on our shaded patio or inside our cozy dining area. From hearty sandwiches and hand-cut salads to homemade soups and small batch sweets, everything is made with as many local ingredients as possible. We offer a nice selection of local brews (including local kombucha) and quality wines as well as locally roasted coffee. Come for a walk and stay for lunch! See you soon!

Nestled somewhere in Asheville is Simple a cafe cum bar which is characterized by peach-colored walls and plants, giving this place a very warm and comforting feel. The major draw of Simple is its juice and sandwiches that include Vegan Big Mock, Vegan Banh Mi, Reuben and many more. Complementing the sandwiches here are juices such as Liver Love, Forever Young, Thai Nectar and The Hulk.
