Housed in an industrial-chic space, Chimera Café is a good place to catch up over breakfast. Wooden and brick walls enclose the dining space and are adorned with quirky paintings. Some of the pillars have been wrapped with tea lights, enhancing their look. You can dine in the main room or at the outdoor patio. The café serves delicious coffee that is sourced from some of the finest local roasters. You can also choose from a variety of beers, fruit juices, liquors, and cocktails. The menu features tacos, pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups, and smoothies. A lot of the food items on the menu are vegan and vegetarian-friendly, and they can make any dish gluten-free, too.
For great tasting Mexican food in downtown Tulsa, head to the Elote Cafe. This restaurant has made it their mission to serve the freshest and healthiest food possible. They uses ingredients from local farms when at all possible, and all their meats are organically grain-fed and raised in Bixby, Oklahoma. The restaurant also has a fun and very friendly vibe. Try the carrot cake or the chocolate fudge cake and you will know why this small bakery-sandwich place is not worth a miss. The portions are decent, as are the prices.
