The Monkey Nest is a coffee house located on Burnet Road that opened its doors in February 2011. It is very nicely furnished inside, with spacious tables inside and outside that are maintained by a very friendly staff. The Monkey Nest offers fair trade quality coffee, sandwiches, and pastries. Prices are very reasonable, and there is always a daily special for a select item. The cafe also opens fairly early, so those who want to grab a coffee before heading to work can definitely make a quick stop here. If you ask for a latte, you can watch them swirl different designs onto the top of your coffee to make it even prettier. They also offer good breakfast tacos in the morning and other baked specialties.
Be warned: this place is very popular, which means it's full for most of the daylight hours. But, you're in luck because this place never closes! It's open 24 hours a day and has a very mellow, relaxed atmosphere. The crowd is made up of those who come in for study groups and those who just drop by to chitchat a bit. They sell all kinds of stuff including pizza, coffee, sandwiches, tea, desserts and salads.
