With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.
We serve fair trade, organic coffee (and espresso) locally roasted in Colorado. Our from scratch menu is locally sourced whenever possible. Some say our Breakfast burritos are the best in the land. We have fantastic baked goods, made from scratch and baked fresh each day with love, by our in house baker. And possibly most of all, genuinely friendly service all the time! The Caldwell is a Southern-rooted bar and restaurant at The Buxton Hotel. The Caldwell serves warm, comfort-driven fare — from oven-roasted chicken biscuits and open-faced brisket melts to shareable plates, fresh salads and house-made baked goods — alongside a cocktail menu and Colorado craft beer on draft. The Caldwell is open daily for breakfast and dinner! Come for a meal, stay for the live music, and settle in like you're part of the neighborhood.
