FILO is the creation of pastry chef Maria Papanastasiou who had a dream of bringing European cafe culture to asheville, a dream born of summers spent in Greece, savoring lazy afternoon with friends at the local cafe.
Izzy’s is a cozy coffee house located in downtown Asheville on Lexington Avenue. We proudly, and artistically, serve Counter Culture Coffee, we sell many great treats made by local bakeries, and we provide a space for local musicians to heard and appreciated.
All of our drinks are hand made by trained, friendly baristas in the traditional fashion and we use Fair Trade organic coffee. Our coffee is roasted by Notorious Coffee, a local roaster who roasts in small batches weekly to keep it as fresh as possible. Milk shakes are also made the old fashioned way using all premium vanilla ice cream and we offer all fruit smoothies made with real fruit. Our sweet treats are made by local bakeries. You can drink coffee anywhere, but how about on top of an authentic 1963 British Double Decker Bus? You can't beat the coffee or the unique setting in Downtown Asheville.
