For seven years before Crystal Graphics, Inc was founded in 1988, the people that made up the ownership of our company were a division of Industrial Plastic Systems, Inc (IPS ) of Lakeland, FL. IPS specializes in large diameter fiberglass pipes and tanks for industrial applications. Two of the three owners of Crystal Graphics, Inc are also principles of IPS. By combining the business and technical skills of the founders, a new technology was born that added a tremendous amount of UV filtration to our fiberglass embedments, which, in turn, allowed encapsulated prints of all kinds to be used outdoors without fear of rapid fading. In the early years, we embedded Duratrans and Printparency photographic prints for the drive thru menu boards (Jack-in-the-Box, Kentucky Fried Chicken, etc. ). As our product line boasts great outdoor characteristics, it was only fitting to expand Crystal Graphics' horizons into the interpretive graphics market. We integrated our capabilities by printing our own graphics (screen printing and direct digital output ) and later offering graphic layout services.
