So, Where do you start? In this yoga community we practice Ahimsa (non-violent communication) and do not label classes "beginner" or "advanced"; instead we invite ALL Yogis, serious and just curious, to ALL classes... Check the Sweat Level for each class for preview of what to expect. Sweat Level n/a: Yin, Restorative or Nidra: these classes are based in relaxation and meditation and done mostly on the recline; like a cross between taking a nap and a gentle yoga class. Sweat Level * Gentle and Calming: these Slow Flow classes are perfect for newbies of any age and ability, and anyone who needs a DEEP stretch. Sweat Level ** Energetic and Awakening: we are movin' a little faster now! Expect to flow! These Vinyasa classes are easily modified to be easier for those who are just beginning or harder for those who like more of a challenge! Sweat Level *** Dynamic and Challenging: Expect to sweat! These Power classes have intense focus on breath and proper alignment. Innovative flows, strength building holds and balances, courage inducing inversions, and power generating core conditioning.

Tampa Yoga Therapy provides Advanced Therapeutic Yoga to help people move in the direction of a more balanced life. Therapeutic Yoga focuses on the five koshas and their effect on the individual. The yogic philosophy of the koshas is central to yoga therapy. Yoga therapists assess the five layers, or koshas by observing how these five areas are expressed in the individual. The first kosha, Anamayakosha is the physical layer. Many people seek Advanced Therapeutic Yoga to address an issue they are having in this realm. A few examples of dis-ease (without ease!) to the Anamayakosha include such things as: hypertension, low back pain, sore joints, impaired balance, and decreased mobility. Many of us could make a much longer list! Yoga has helped many people achieve a level of ease within the body, the Anamayakosha layer. Advanced Therapeutic Yoga looks at all the koshas to determine which of the koshas needs the most support. We know for example, if the emotional body is in "over drive," reducing stress may have a positive effect on hypertension. Advanced Yoga Therapy operates on the premise that balance within all five koshas creates the integrated experience of health and well-being. The five koshas are: Physical Body - Anamayakosha Breath/Energy Body - Pranamayakosha Psycho/Emotional Body - Manamayakosha Witness/Wisdom Body - Vijnanamayakosha Bliss Body - Anandamayakosha
