At Gehl Design/Build, Inc. (License #B 824162), we bridge the gap between visionary architectural design and meticulous construction. As a premier full-service firm based in Kensington, we specialize in transforming residential spaces from concept to completion across the Bay Area. Led by Principal Michael M. Pourzand—who holds an architecture degree from UC Berkeley and a Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture from the University of British Columbia—we believe enduring homes require both aesthetic refinement and structural precision. By housing design, project management, and general contracting under one roof, we eliminate the friction between architect and builder. This unified approach provides a streamlined, stress-free experience that saves time and delivers uncompromising quality. Our expertise covers custom remodels, seamless home additions, and ground-up new construction, guiding every project from the first sketch to the final walk-through. We apply deep architectural rigor to ensure every space is optimized for light, geometry, and flow, while smoothly navigating complex California building codes, local permitting, and rigorous structural requirements. From initial ideas to the final polish, our team is passionate about bringing your vision to life. We work closely with you to ensure your project utilizes high-quality materials and meets the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Raumfabrik Architecture + Interiors is a Berkeley based architecture and interior design firm. Founded in 2013 by German born architect Antje Paiz, the company's primary focus is on high-end residential projects in the greater Bay Area. Completed works include ground up constructions of custom homes, residential remodels and additions, as well as several small scale commercial projects. Our approach is both client focused and collaborative, recognizing the uniqueness of each individual and location. We believe that successful designs are born from a balance of form, function and light, rather than strict adherence to any particular style. This thinking translates into uncompromisingly efficient floor plans, clean compositions and careful modulation of texture and light. Our goal is to enhance our clients' spatial experience and create buildings that are more than four walls and a roof - houses one calls home. Raumfabrik Architecture + Interiors offers a comprehensive palette of services including pre-purchase consulting, master planning, construction administration and interior design. We typically stay involved throughout the construction process and have enduring relationships with many skilled and trusted Bay Area contractors and manufacturers.
