Interactive Design Group (IDG) is a multi-disciplinary architecture firm who's been creating smart space solutions for clients in Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina since 1997. Our process begins at the end. How will the end user benefit from our efforts? We learn your business, your priorities, your vision; and each design reflects the nuances of that understanding. We add value without adding price and believe that creative space can be useful, functional, and attractive. We prepare you for growth and success, providing incremental solutions for every phase.
John Black Designs brings something rare to residential architecture in Roanoke: a solo practitioner who handles every project personally, from the first conversation through construction documents. No hand-offs to junior staff, no templated designs. Every home is designed from scratch around the way you actually live. With a background in historic preservation and design-build construction, John brings a practical understanding of how buildings go together, not just how they look on paper. That means designs that are buildable, code-compliant, and grounded in the realities of construction cost and local permitting. Whether you're planning a custom new home, a significant addition, or a full renovation, you work directly with John start to finish.
