Great Oak builds custom furniture by hand near Nashville, Tennessee. Work includes custom dining tables, live-edge pieces, built-ins and cabinetry, bedroom furniture, and one-of-a-kind commissions designed around a specific home and the people who live in it. Common materials include Black Walnut, White Oak, Hard Maple, Cherry, and reclaimed barn wood — each selected for the specific piece, not pulled from inventory. Joinery is traditional — mortise and tenon, dovetail, hand-fit — chosen for strength and longevity, not speed. Every piece that leaves the studio was designed, built, and finished by one maker. No assistants, no outsourced steps, no shortcuts. The work moves at a human pace because it's meant to last longer than any trend cycle. Most years, only a handful of finished pieces leave the studio. Great Oak serves homeowners, interior designers, and architects across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. If you're a designer looking for a maker who executes well and communicates clearly, every project begins with a conversation. Availability is intentionally limited. Commissions are open.
