With more than 35 years of professional design experience, Laura Lacovara, ASID is the owner and master designer for VARA Inc. She graduated from the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. In addition to studying Architecture and Decorative Arts in Europe, Laura obtained Master's credits from the world renowned Parsons New School of Design. Laura has been featured in local newspapers and publications, as well as Window Fashions Magazine, Baron's "Who's Who of Interior Design," and Baron's "Who's Who of Executives and Professionals." Laura is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, a highly respected organization whose members must meet and maintain specific qualifications and standards for acceptance and continued membership.

Originally founded by the Samuel Gerber family and located in Lemoyne, PA as Gerber fabrics the business flourished as a one stop decorative fabrics resource and operated until 2006 by the founder's son, Larry Gerber. In that year Mr. Gerber retired from business and passed the reigns to longtime associate Richard Raudabaugh who founded Draperyland in 1976 and has been in the window decorating business since 1963 as the owner and operator of The Fabric Center in Carlisle, PA.
