We do dog walking, cat sitting, and in-home stays in customers' homes while they are away. We work 7 days a week, including ALL holidays. We are your reliable and trustworthy source for the care of special needs dogs and cats, as well as for the care of pets that are just plain special. We offer dog boarding and day care in an environment controlled and monitored by a trained, experienced and caring staff. Your dog has a lot of outdoor playtime throughout the day in a very large play area. Your dog will be treated as a member of our family in an in-home environment where their safety, happiness and well being are our number one priority. We also offer cat care, I come to your home and spend quality time with your cat, a visit is a half hour.
I have received training and instruction on dog and cat behavior, medical care, First Aid and CPR for animals from the Anti-Cruelty Society and Red Cross, as well as training in medication administration. This allowed me to extend my services to animals with medical issues, senior animals and animals with disabilities. A positive working relationship with each animal is the cornerstone of the work I do, treating each animal with love, respect, compassion and sensitivity. I began my business in 2003 and I am still learning and growing in my field. I also am the legal caretaker of a feral cat colony in Rogers Park that I began supporting in 2006.
With over 30 years as a dog trainer in both Obedience and Shitzund Service Work, I began A Bark And A Meow in 2006, feeling I could give more than just training to the human/pet world. Our walkers are trained in giving your dog more than just love and a good walk down the street or to the park...we reinforce their training, help with behavioral issues, and connect deeply and solely to the pet owner(s) and their pet(s). We are unique because we are not just your everyday dog walker and sitter. We are integrated every step of the way with You and Your Pet's Best Friend(s)!
