New Vistas Center for Education (NVCE) was founded in 1979 to meet the needs of advanced students, who are among the most under-served in the United States. NVCE's vision, then as now, is to offer Arizona's best and brightest students unmatched education with no ceiling to learning. Students advance as quickly as they are able regardless of chronological age. Success is evidenced by means of the impressive enrollment growth, curriculum agility, international test competitiveness and student achievements. NVCE was named a Top Ten School by Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth and designated the Top Science and Engineering School in the Elementary School Division by Intel, Helios and others high-tech companies. Each student has an individual reading coach and a uniquely designed math program that begins in preschool and culminates in fifth and sixth grade enabling successful mastery of pre-algebra, algebra and geometry. We utilize a testing component which allows for timely advancement upon subject mastery. Typically students perform 2-6 years above grade level in reading and math.
