We offer a rigorous (K - 8th) academic program that emphasizes the arts and technology. We have discovered that by integrating the arts and technology into our academic program we create a more hands-on learning environment that better fits the learning styles of our diverse population of students. To accomplish this, we employ only Arizona certified teachers in areas and seek out partnerships with volunteer agencies, schools of higher learning and community businesses. A variety of artists from the community work with our students creating a positive climate that celebrates the gifts of each student. Last year's test scores demonstrate that our program is successful. Recently, the Arizona Charter School Association rated our school third in the state for increasing student achievement. Federal grants provide an aide in every classroom to assist the teacher and students.
Legacy Traditional School - Mesa is a tuition-free charter school in Arizona serving Pre-K-6 students in Mesa. Burke Basic School is a tuition-free charter school that offers various learning opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade six. The school s academic curriculum includes reading, mathematics, writing, science and social studies. Its computer laboratory is equipped with more than 40 computers. The school offers opportunities for children and adults to develop morally and build character. Burke Basic School provides summer camp programs. The school also offers strings, choir and music classes. It provides a lunch menu, including milk, pizza, salad, bananas, beans, potatoes and meatballs.
