Originally nine families with seventeen children formed Kyrene School District. Today, we have 19 Elementary Schools and 6 Middle Schools with approximately 17, 500 students in 1, 000 classrooms located in 3 cities, Tempe, Chandler and Phoenix ( Ahwatukee ).Kyrene is a highly successful school district, from administrative overhead versus "in the class room" dollar figures to the national award winning technology program to achievement results much higher than the state average on the AIMS test.Kyrene's mission states" ensure continuous academic achievement and personal growth for every student. We take this very seriously and believe that Kyrene schools are up to the task just as we have been for the past 120 years
