The Wesley School

Our community of belonging is at the core of what makes Wesley a singular playground for children to joyfully discover their sense of self. By intentionally centering the relational aspect of teaching and learning, our educators provide students with the confidence that can only be created through being known, appreciated, and included. Having been inspired by these exemplary teachers, who also serve as advisors, mentors, and coaches, Wesley students approach all activities with optimism as well as with an understanding of their obligation to actively take part in shaping their experience, and those around them, with compassion and empathy.

Oakwood Secondary School

Overview: Young people prosper with small classes, rigorous academics, individualized programs, and countless offerings in STEAM, visual and performing arts, debate, and competitive sports. In addition to core academic classes, Oakwood School offers unique mentorship opportunities with Caltech, CalArts, NASA, and numerous organizations through the Immersion Program. While our program is college preparatory, we are equally concerned with the quality of children's experiences in the present. Athletics: The Oakwood Athletics program compliments the school's rigorous and innovated college preparatory program by offering a wide variety of competitive sport teams. As members of the San Fernando Valley Private School Athletic League, the Junior High Delphic League, and the Liberty League, Oakwood students compete against schools such as Buckley, Chaminade, Campbell Hall, Harvard-Westlake, Viewpoint, and many others. Experiential Learning: Oakwood's Statement of Philosophy compels us to have students "grapple meaningfully with ideas, to discover relationships among disciplines, and to become independent and moral thinkers." Through experiential learning, we seize opportunities to inhabit the spaces between traditional and progressive pedagogy, and we dissolve the barriers between the classroom and the world around us.
