Founded in 1881 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, the Academy of the Holy Names is an independent, Catholic, coeducational elementary school and a college preparatory high school for young women. Academy is an Apple Distinguished School for 2016-2018 for its successful implementation of a 2:1 MacBook Air and iPad program, for meeting criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrating a clear vision of exemplary learning environments. As the second oldest high school in the state of Florida, Academy strives to maintain an innovative approach to curriculum that integrates technology, promotes creativity, encourages artistic expression, and actively engages students in exploration and inquiry.
Operational for more than 45 years, St. Patrick Catholic School is a learning center that enrolls students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. It teaches a variety of academic subjects, including mathematics, social studies, language arts and science. St. Patrick Catholic School also offers classes in media, foreign languages, and physical and computer education. The school provides Christ-centered religion education and participates in various religious practices. It additionally maintains a parent-teacher organization and organizes book fairs. St. Patrick Catholic School is a part of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
