The Summit School is a private, nonprofit coeducational school that offers a variety of educational and extracurricular activities. Located in Jamaica, N.Y., the high school was founded in 1968 and also offers educational programs for children with learning disabilities and adjustment problems. The school s parent association promotes communication and cooperation between parents and the school. It hosts several professional lecture series that is regularly attended by professionals, parents and community members. The school offers a variety of activities, such as interscholastic basketball, swimming, a recreational enrichment after-school program and chess. Additionally, the school organizes campaigns and various other fundraising activities.
