East Grand Rapids Middle School offers a variety of educational and cocurricular programs to students in grades six through eight. Located in East Grand Rapids, Mich., the school offers various programs, including English, arts, music, science, social studies, mathematics and physical education. It is affiliated with the East Grand Rapids Public Schools, and provides language arts, Spanish, choir, orchestra, band, creative writing and study skills. East Grand Rapids Middle School additionally provides French, architecture, basic repair, logic and reasoning skills, journalism, forensics, pottery and printmaking and multimedia studies. The school also offers various activities, such as science Olympiad, Odyssey of the Mind, yearbook and newspaper, student council and several student volunteer programs.

Thornapple Elementary School is a part of Forest Hills Public Schools and enrolls more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade four. The school conducts classes in art, music, and technology and physical education. Thornapple Elementary School operates a parent-teacher organization that encourages parental involvement in children s education and sponsors various fundraising events and activities. It provides after-school and gifted and talented education programs. Thornapple Elementary School also operates environmental and art clubs. It publishes a newsletter, Thornapple Gram, which supplies information about the school s upcoming events and activities.
