Southwest High School

Southwest High School is an educational institution that has been operational since 1987. Its academic curriculum includes math, science, art, social studies and English. The school organizes Spanish learning classes. Southwest High School offers guidance counseling services. The school supports a range of sports events, such as basketball, baseball, football, track and field, soccer, cross-country, softball, cheerleading and volleyball. It also operates dance, yoga and chess clubs. Southwest High School maintains a student council and the National Honor Society. The school is governed by Minneapolis Public Schools, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. In addition, it organizes fine arts classes.

Al-Amal School

Founded in 1994, Al-Amal School is a nonprofit organization and a full time Islamic school operating in Minnesota. The school offers classes form prekindergarten through grade 12. It provides an Islamic educational environment for more than 350 Muslim students from Twin Cities and surrounding areas. Its curriculum includes a wide range of subjects, such as language arts, math, science, social studies, Arabic language, Quran, Islamic studies and physical education. The school also provides several extracurricular activities, such as Islamic arts, robotics club, soccer, music, and painting. Al-Amal School has a parent-teacher- association to promote the welfare of students. The association also provides various special activities, such as after school tutoring, annual school picnic, teacher appreciation week, support in organizing of school fund-raising events, quarterly parents potlucks, and addressing parents' collective issues with the school and administration. It is located in Fridley, Minn.

Located in Minneapolis, Jordan Park Community School is a public middle school offering education to students in prekindergarten to grade eight. It has an enrollment of more than 500 students and offers interdisciplinary teaching strategies within various content areas, including language arts, mathematics, social studies and science. It also offers specialized reading and math classes, gifted and talented education and Hmong literacy programs. It also offers guidance services and encourages students to develop social and study skills. The programs offered by the school include, All-day Kindergarten, High Five, Hmong Magnet, English language learning, and visual arts, special and physical education programs. It also offers programs in music, accelerated reading and Girls in Engineering Math and Science Program. The school also offers extracurricular activities and athletic programs, and a media and technology center with Internet access.
