Frederick Douglass High School

Frederick Douglass High School is located in Columbia, Missouri. It is an alternate public school to students between grades nine and 12 throughout the Columbia Public Schools District. The school differs from a regular high school because of programs including child development and parenting classes, a day care facility, work study programs, and a hands-on approach. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 4, 1980.

Derby Ridge Elementary School offers classes in reading, writing, math, social studies and science. The school s curriculum also includes art, music and physical education. It offers classes in computers and technology and has an enrollment of approximately 700 students. Derby Ridge Elementary School is part of the Literacy Collaborative Project, a nation-wide network that works to improve literacy education for kindergarten through fifth grade students. The school s library and media center stocks a variety of storybooks, quiz books, picture dictionaries and puzzles. It is located in Columbia, Mo. Derby Ridge Elementary School is governed by Columbia Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle, and junior and senior high schools.
