The Charleston Catholic School educates K4-8th grade students in a nurturing family environment within the sacred tradition and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. James Simons Elementary School offers academic classes for students in pre-kindergarten through grade six. Its curriculum includes math, social studies, language arts, art and physical education. The school operates a library and media center that features a variety of educational materials related to the school curriculum and audiovisual resources and online tools. James Simons Elementary School maintains an instructional technology department and a parent center. It also provides guidance counseling services, as well as has a computer laboratory. The school is a part of the Charleston County School District, which governs various elementary, middle, high, charter and magnet schools. The Charleston County School District supports several adult education programs through West Ashley High School Adult Education, North Charleston High School Adult Education and Trident One Stop Career Center.
