Since our 1728 founding, Norfolk Academy has existed for the transformative education and edification of children (and families) in Hampton Roads. As Virginia's oldest independent school, we carry that historic mission into today, even as we constantly reevaluate and improve upon our purpose, our performance, and the lasting effect we have on our students and our region.
Northside Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. The school has a cafeteria that serves lunch and breakfast to students. In addition, it offers various after-school programs. The school also operates a library and media center that offers an accelerated reader program. Its academic curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, social studies, computer literacy, art, and health and physical education. Additionally, the school has a counseling and guidance department for students, parents and teachers. It offers a variety of additional courses, such as reading phonics, mathematics, language arts, history and geography. Northside Middle School is a part of Norfolk Public Schools.
