The Native School is the only Evidence-Based Outdoor Early Ed Program in San Diego. -EST 2011- Influenced by Scandinavian Forest School models and Reggio Emilia Teaching Practices, we utilize inquiry-based learning in the living classrooms and wildlife spaces native to our school's partnering preserves. Our Professional Educators and University Interns are dedicated to emergent, hands-on learning, employing Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Evidence-Based Academic Teaching. Our curriculum is not scripted or textbook-driven. Content is dictated by students' developmental needs and expressed interests. Our University Recognized Frameworks provide accountability for ensuring math, literacy, science, and indigenous studies concepts and skills are mastered, in alignment with California State Education Standards and utilizing only Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction. **An Important Note To The Community** In June of 2025, our program experienced a theft of intellectual property, and contracted families were targeted with misinformation intended to solicit enrollment for a competing program by a previous short-term employee. This outside program falsely claimed to possess the same validity as our fifteen years of experience in outdoor education and both stole and utilized our published work and research. Our longstanding professional partners helped initiate an independent investigation into all rumors and claims. *To date, every single claim had been determined unfounded*
