Kid Works Children's Center

A preschool for ages 3 - 5 with a focus on a developmental philosophy with the best of many other philosophies in child development. We value play and the learning that happens with play: problem solving, spatial awareness, teamwork, empathy, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, challenges, perseverance, cognitive development, language, confidence and importantly appropriate risk-taking. The list goes on. We have an edible garden that the children maintain where we can eat sugar snap peas right off the vine, beans of the vine, tomatoes, carrots etc. They get to witness the seasonal changes that happen, dig, rake, smell the flowers, pick 'some' flowers, feed the animals. It is a magical place for children to explore.

Nature's Edge Child Development Center

We believe that a curriculum exists within each child that is particular to their development and culture. Through this approach, teachers thoughtfully plan the environment by offering many visible choices based on the child's interests, skills, and needs. Weekly lesson plans are posted in the individual classes. We believe that the heart of children's learning is play. Through play, they explore developmental themes and stages leading to physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. Children are active, sensory learners and need to be provided with multiple opportunities for self-chosen exploration, investigation, social interaction, and problem-solving.

Little Sunshine House

Enrollment at LSH is year round with most openings occurring between July and September. Please contact us through our website by clicking on the Contact Us Tab. At Little Sunshine House CDC we are here to provide the best care and early education for young children. We draw inspiration from the Reggio approach, as well as, from current research. Our curriculum develops around the interest of the children. In this way we can provide opportunities for learning that are meaningful. It is our desire to provide a balance of intellectual stimulation, emotional support and physical nurturance for your child. While it may look like 'play' it is our philosophy that experimentation, exploration and questioning are the natural mode of learning for the young child. In play the mind is always busy.
