Community Nursery School was established in 1959. Since then we have earned a reputation as a program that values children as individuals. Community Nursery School is a non-denominational, not- for-profit preschool governed by a Board of Directors. We are housed in the United Methodist Church in Westport, CT just minutes from the Weston border. The park-like setting allows wonderful space for two separate age-appropriate playgrounds, as well as an on-site nature trail and preserve owned and maintained by Aspetuck Land Trust. Our goals revolve around the basic concept that for preschoolers, guided play is the major source of learning. A strength of Community Nursery School is our teachers, whose warmth, sensitivity and skill create an exciting learning environment. We employ and support a teaching staff that has the educational qualifications, knowledge and professional commitment necessary to promote children's learning and development and to support families' diverse interests and needs. They provide a safe and healthy learning environment, which encourages children to discover and participate.
