Joyfully growing hearts and minds … If you provide children with a broad education in the arts, literacy, math, science and the history of their community, all while allowing them to move and play freely, they will thrive. If you honor and stoke children’s natural curiosity—the engine of achievement—they will flourish. If you encourage children to be creative, to express themselves in song, on paper, at an easel, they will love the place called school.
The Childcare Learning Center Stamford (CLC) was established in 1902 as the Stamford Day Nursery to provide care for the children of working families. Since then, CLC has grown and is now licensed to serve 1,250 children and their families daily. The center provides a comprehensive range of programs and services that both empower and nurture young children during their most formative years. CLC serves all children and their families within the greater Stamford and Greenwich areas of Conn. Children with special needs or handicaps are welcome. Children may be enrolled throughout the year for both full-time and part-time programs. CLC is a community of caring professionals working in close collaboration with the Stamford Board of Education. All teachers hold college degrees in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development Associate certificates. All staff members are certified in pediatric first aid, CPR, as well as receiving continual in-service training.
