We are a nationally Accredited Preschool serving children ages 2, 3, 4 and 5 with parent-toddler, preschool, PreK, enrichment and summer programs. We offer morning and afternoon sessions of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week. Qualified teachers deliver intentional instruction based on current brain development research with topics drawn from the emergent interests of the children. Our experiential learning programs are safe, fun and flexible to meet children's and families needs.
Learning is active, joyful, and purposeful at the Temple Sholom Selma Maisel Nursery School (SMNS) in Greenwich. Our play-based curriculum nurtures the whole child, supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth through meaningful experiences, caring relationships, and hands-on exploration. Our experienced educators guide each child as they build early literacy, math, science, and problem-solving skills through play, inquiry, and discovery. Children are encouraged to ask questions, experiment, create, and develop confidence in an environment designed to spark curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
We have been open since 1992, and became Nationally accredited by NAEYC in April of 2011. We are also licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of health. L'il Critters has 42 slots for the School Readiness Program which operates on a Sliding Fee scale. This program is available to preschool aged children, and is on a first come first served basis. We also accept Care4kids. L'il Critters combines quality childcare with educationally positive and lasting experiences. We believe children learn best through play, while providing developmentally appropriate experiences, preparing each child for the next educational stage in their lives
We utilize the Experience Early Learning Curriculum which introduces a new theme every month. Theme-based studies across all of the learning domains encourage critical thinking skills, builds anticipation keeping children engaged, and allows for them to make connections between the new information and their own experiences.
Your child's home away from home. The Apple Tree Pre-School runs its learning programs for both three year old children and four year old children. Apple Tree Pre-School is fully licensed in the State of Connecticut. We provide a very friendly, caring and supportive environment. It is our policy to make learning fun for the child and to help each child feel good about themselves. Maintaining a non-stressful atmosphere for your child is very important to our staff here at Apple Tree Pre-School! Apple Tree Pre-School hours are 7AM -5:30PM. Children can be enrolled from two to five days per week. Morning and afternoon snacks and juice are served daily. Apple Tree Pre-School staff is made up of teachers and aides who have many years of experience and training in working with pre-school aged children. Please know that at Apple Tree Pre-School your child is cared for as an individual. We see each child as a separate, special person. We take great pride in knowing your child's experience here will be a rewarding one.
