The Tatnall School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school located in near Wilmington, Del. The school is composed of four academic divisions that enroll students from three years old through the 12th grade. The Tatnall School offers a diverse program of academics, arts and athletics guided by its faculty with parent involvement in nearly all areas of school life. The school has more than 2,600 alumni throughout the United States. The Tatnall School was founded in 1930 and incorporated in 1936 as a school for girls. In 1964, the school graduated its first co-educational class. The school works to provide a flexible and balanced curriculum that challenges students according to their ability, learning styles and level of achievement, and prepares them for higher education. The Edgemoor Community Center is a nonprofit, community-based, multiservice agency. The center provides a range of educational, recreational, self-enrichment and family support services. It offers preschool child care, computer tutorial, and before- and after- school care services. The center offers recreational activities, as well as organizes several summer camps, youth work programs and instructional classes. The Edgemoor Community Center serves as a venue for organizing various community programs. The center enrolls more than 80 children in early child care and over 85 children in school-age child care programs, as well as nearly 90 children in summer camps. Jewish Community Center offers support for Jewish immigrants and has more than 350 camps throughout the United States, including one in Wilmington, Del. It offers a wide range of services, including educational, cultural, social, Jewish identity building and recreational programs to enhance the lives of North American Jews of all ages and backgrounds. It is operated by JCC Association, which is the United States government accredited agency for serving the religious and social needs of Jewish military personnel, families and patients in hospitals through the Jewish Chaplains Council. The association was founded in 1854, and has various departments, such as adults, sports and wellness, childhood education, professional development services and community services.
