For the past sixty years, Saint Michael Lutheran School has held to this scripture by offering a rigorous, thorough education in a supportive and loving environment. This faith-based, accredited, coeducational Lutheran school lifts our students up by nourishing both mind, body and spirit on an individual level for the Lee County community. Our students, ranging from pre-Kindergarten to the eighth grade, receive a distinctly Christian-based education, rooted in academic excellence, that encourages all of them grow and mature. While we belong to the Lutheran School system (the second largest private school system in the country), we are privileged to have students from nearly every major denomination, ethnic background and economic standing. Canterbury School is a private, coeducational college preparatory day school offering educational services to students in prekindergarten through grade 12. It is an independent school offering various holistic learning, and concept and cognitive skills development programs in the lower school. Its lower school also offers summer reading, physical education, wellness programs, arts classes and foreign language studies. The upper school offers courses in various subjects, such as English, mathematics, science, social science, foreign languages, physical education, technology and arts. Its fine arts department offers courses in African and Caribbean drumming, band, wind ensemble, ceramics acting and theater, drawing, and photography. The school also offers advanced placement and honors programs in various subjects, including Spanish, French, calculus, economics and history. It additionally offers libraries with collections of print and audiovisual materials and Internet access. The school is located in Fort Myers, Fla., and also offers various athletic and extracurricular programs.
