Founded in 1990, Abundant Life Christian Academy provides Christian education and teachings of Jesus. The main goal of the academy is to work for the development of students in the areas of spiritually, academics, social and physical growth. It serves more than 360 students in grades kindergarten through grade eight and offers a variety of subjects, such as art lessons, math, fine arts, science and languages. Abundant Life Christian Academy admits students of all race, nationalities and ethnic origins in all rights, privileges, programs and activities. The academy is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association and is a charter member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Abundant Life Christian Academy is also a member of other educational associations such as the Association of Christian Schools International and Oral Roberts University Educational Fellowship. Temple Beth Am is a full-service congregation affiliated with United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, serving the Jewish community in the northwest Broward County, Fla. The synagogue, based in Margate, Fla., offers a variety of programs and activities for men, women, seniors, youth and children. Its primary department offers Sunday classes that emphasize on holiday experiences and Hebrew reading skills. Children in grades three through seven attend the religious school that offers Hebrew reading, participation in services and Jewish history and values. The youth department is supervised by a full-time director and offers three youth groups, including Chalutzim, for third, fourth and fifth-graders, Kadima, for sixth, seventh and eighth-graders and United Synagogue Youth, for students in grades eighth to 12.
