Since 1976, John and Elaine Rose have been offering speech therapy, academic remediation and summer academic classes to Tallahassee families. The Roses have been involved in the organization and administration of several schools during the past thirty years. Elaine O. Rose, M.S. has a Masters degree in reading from Florida State University. She has taught in traditional classrooms both in elementary and middle school and has also been a reading specialist in the public school. Mrs. Rose was the assistant director of the FSU Reading Clinic and has conducted multiple teacher workshops in the state of Florida for Florida State University and many private schools. She has coauthored the book " Starting Early with Study Skills" published by Allyn & Bacon.John Rose, M.S. is a speech pathologist/therapist licensed in the State of Florida. Mr. Rose has 30 years of experience and success with a spectrum of speech and learning challenges. Over the years Rose Speech and Academic Center has built a reputation for providing exceptional academic support and guidance for students and their families through their afterschool program, summer enrichment, and remediation programs at their Timberlane Road office and on-campus at a variety of schools in the Tallahassee area.

Killearn United Methodist Church, founded in 1969, promotes its mission through worship, education and services. The church offers Sunday school classes, Bible studies, prayer and fellowship opportunities for children, youth and adults. It has various ministries, including adult, youth, children, caring and support, outreach, missions, music, nurturing, Boy Scouts, and spiritual formation ministries. The church provides spiritual guidance to distressed and sick people, and prayer support to patients suffering from cancer and grief. It also offers services, such as education grants, financial assistance, graduate study programs, divorce care, liturgical and vocation.
