Champions for Children serves children ages 6 weeks-5th grade. We offer all day programs for children beginning age 6 weeks. We also have a Lottery Funded Pre-K class and a camp program for older students. Founded in 1970, Athens Christian School is an interdenominational Christian school with more than 700 students. The school is approved by the Georgia Accrediting Commission and is located in Athens, Ga. Its kindergarten students learn the phonetic method of reading along with math, writing and other skills. It prepares the high school students for college and career. In addition to advanced placement courses, a wide variety of sports, music, drama, speech and extracurricular activities are also provided. It offers sport activities, such as football, cross country, track, baseball, basketball, softball and volleyball. Comprehensive morning program for children ages 23 months through 5 years. Play-based learning through the Creative Curriculum of art, music, math, science, and social studies that focus on executive functioning, gross motor, and fine motor skills. The Creative Curriculum learning model for planning the classrooms and teaching units. Following the standards and practices from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, we complete learning assessments for each child. Our highly qualified staff hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and many with a Master's. We also have two wonderful playgrounds with renovations to include a children’s garden coming in Fall 2023. Athens Academy is an independent, nonprofit college preparatory coeducational school founded in 1967. The school educates more than 850 students in prekindergarten through grade 12.
