Empowering children and families to achieve a healthy, optimal and independent lifestyle. Porter-Leath's five program focus areas are Preschool, Connections, Cornerstone, Spoonfuls and Generations. Preschool prepares over 5800 students, ages 0-5, each year for kindergarten though top quality education. Connections provides a safe environment through foster care and through a runaway/homeless youth shelter. Cornerstone is an evidence-based home visitation program that trains parents to be their child's first teacher as well as provides proven resources that result in healthy birth weight infants. Spoonfuls ensures family day homes are able to provide a safe environment for children in their care and to serve USDA approved meals. Generations provides intergenerational mentoring opportunities for seniors to reinvest in their community by sharing their time with young children.
