Hi, my name is Kristin. I have been working with families, children, and young adults for nearly ten years. My focus is on forming relationships with each person in order to build trust and a sense of security so that change is possible. I have worked in homes and communities as well as schools for the entirety of my career. As a behavioral specialist, I have worked in home and school settings and became known as the go-to for "the most challenging” children and young adults. Finding each person’s unique interests and passions and participating with them by doing what they love, I have found a way to create a trusting and warm relationship with even the most reticent young people. As a teacher, I spent my work days implementing effective strategies for improving reading comprehension, fluency, and accuracy as well as spelling, handwriting, and vocabulary. I worked with students aged 8 through 15 who struggled with comprehension, spelling, handwriting, processing, perspective-taking, and more. Most students that I worked with were diagnosed with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Auditory Processing Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, and more. My goal being to help students become confident and independent as they both expanded and explored their skills.
