Tino Tutors
We know school is tough. We've been through it and are still going though it ourselves. But, the biggest problem we've come across is understanding the material. It's not enough to just memorize. Truly understanding math, science, and even literature requires a deeper foundation in which our tutors are willing to help provide. We here at TinoTutors don't simply give answers out. We understand that students need to be able to fully grasp the problem and apply their understanding themselves. By providing guidance, and not just answers, we help the student prepare to be a critical problem solver. School teachers are great, no doubt. But sometimes students won't receive the individual attention that they need. That's what TinoTutors can provide: a personalized one on one session devoted solely to the student's needs.
The West San Jose Kumon Center opened its doors in 1983 as one of the first Kumon centers in Northern California. Initially only Kumon Math was offered. In 1985, Japanese Kokugo was added and then the Reading program in 1991. The Otsuka family took over the center, continuing to offer three subjects while running two other centers in the Bay Area. Currently the West San Jose center operates with Chieko Otsuka as Head Instructor. She has been a Kumon Instructor since 2006. With over 35 years of experience, the Otsuka family remains as one of the pioneers of Kumon in the Bay Area.
