Whether you would like to improve your child's skills to increase school success, or enrich their skills to become even more successful, GradePower can help! Unlike typical tutoring centers, GradePower gets to the root cause of why a child isn't meeting his/her potential. Rather than just drilling skills, we teach children how to think actively and learn independently. Our ultimate goal is to break the tutoring cycle. Our pre-school program, Little Readers, is a learn-to-read, get ready for kindergarten program for 3-5 year olds. We teach reading, math, and fine motor skills in a fun half-day setting. Consistently our students are all reading when they leave for kindergarten and have learned how to focus on their work for up to an hour at a time. Beyond Tutoring students in grades K-8 have individually designed programs that incorporate phonics, reading comprehension, writing, and math, as well as study skills to help them excel in school. We build self-confidence and independence into the learning process so students become active readers and learners. The Advantage High School programs cover reading, writing, math up through AP calculus, the sciences, foreign languages and the study skills needed to succeed in high school and college. ACT and SAT programs are available in small group or one-on-one classes. We have something for every student from pre-school to high school.

Hi! I'm Leo J, a student with a passion for helping students discover that math can be both understandable and enjoyable. I provide personalized tutoring for students in grades K–9, focusing on building strong fundamentals, increasing confidence, and creating a genuine interest in mathematics. Throughout high school, I have completed Math 1 Honors, Math 2 Honors, Math 3 Honors, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. I earned 5s on both the AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC exams, and finished AP Calculus BC with a 96 on the final exam. More importantly, these experiences have taught me how to break down challenging concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps that help students learn with confidence. My goal isn't just to help students improve their grades—it's to help them develop problem-solving skills, gain confidence in their abilities, and build a lasting interest in mathematics that extends beyond the classroom.
I am a current UNC Chapel Hill Student. I can tutor most high school subjects, including AP level subjects. I can also tutor calculus, physics, and French. Why I can tutor? I have passed 14 AP exams, got a 99% in Calculus I at UNC Chapel Hill, and got a composite superscore of 35 on the ACT. I've been a French peer tutor and can teach to any age.
