Core specialties: adult students, neurodivergent students About: I have 4 years of tutoring experience and have worked with students ages 8 to adult on numerous subjects, from elementary math to high school level algebra, geometry, and statistics. I have helped students who were behind in math to catch up to their classmates, and worked with many students who lacked confidence in math, helping them discover and work with their strengths. I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent students and adults looking to further their careers. I individualize my approach to each student’s unique needs, rather than sticking to one approach or curriculum. I can guide students through homework or test prep exercises given by a teacher, but I can also design a pathway to help students catch up if they need additional support outside of homework. My demeanor is always friendly and nonjudgmental, responding with curiosity so I can get to the heart of any lack of understanding and address it with clarification tailored to the student’s needs. I make frequent use of visuals and real-world examples. I share my enthusiasm for math learning with all students, encouraging their curiosity, while also bringing an attitude of empathy for their struggles. My rate is $40/hour. Lessons are typically an hour long and may take place once or twice weekly or as-needed. I can teach virtually over Zoom or in a location of your choice within the Portland area (such as a library, cafe, or in your home.

I deeply care about your child’s education. I love and support our many talented and gifted teachers in our schools, but they are carrying a heavy load right now. They are expected to teach meaningful lessons to up to 25 students with many interruptions in their day! Can you imagine how much your child can learn with undivided attention for 30 minutes with the goal of deep understanding? That is what I offer in my Enrichment classes! Let me come along side your child and help them succeed, giving them skills to learn and grow stronger so they can be more than ready in Kindergarten both socially and academically! I have taught many Enrichment classes and have very pleased parents that are willing to share their experiences!
