LeTourneau University is an interdenominational, evangelical Christian university located in Longview, Texas. The university offers undergraduate degrees in engineering, aeronautical science, business, computer science and education. It also provides business and education programs for working adults in educational centers throughout Texas. Founded as LeTourneau Technical Institute in 1946, it initially educated veterans returning from World War II but has grown into a nationally recognized master's-granting university. The university has a variety of men's and women's intercollegiate sports teams, including men's and women's soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, men's baseball, women's softball and women's volleyball. Its athletic mascot is the yellow jacket and its colors are blue and gold.
