Since 1968, WMEAC has served as West Michigan's leading voice for environmental protection. WMEAC is located in the East Hills neighborhood in Grand Rapids. We are housed in a building that was recognized by the US Green Building Council ( www.usgbc.org ) as the first double-gold LEED certified building in the United States. Our office space serves as a demonstration site for green building practices, sustainable interior design, energy efficiency and stormwater management. Our office space has an ecological footprint 90% smaller than that of a comparable office space. We have reduced our energy consumption by 51%.
