UAB's Alys Stephens Center is a true cultural center for our city and state; committed to presenting the best in all genres of the performing arts while curating innovative arts experiences and nurturing creativity. Since 1996, the ASC has been a place where the entire community experiences the arts through the world's best artists in music, dance, theatre, comedy, film and family entertainment. Community members can further engage with the arts through ArtPlay, the ASC's home for arts education and outreach.
The Junior League of Birmingham founded Birmingham Children s Theatre in 1947. Now in its 59th season, BCT is one of America s largest professional theatres for youth and family audiences providing theatrical entertainment throughout Alabama and the Mid-Atlantic region. Based in Birmingham, Ala., it operates a three-theatre complex and produces five national tours. BCT performs to more than 400,00 audiences in as many as 75 Alabama cities annually through its touring program, Theatre in Motion. Prior to a BCT show, teachers and school children are provided with study guides pertaining to the production.

Since its debut on campus in 1976, Samford University's Wright Center and multiple performance venues offer Birmingham patrons direct access to the arts, showcasing entertainment for all ages. Conveniently located on the beautiful campus, it is a true cornerstone of the arts community. Samford shares the spotlight with notable performing arts groups including the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Opera Birmingham, and Alabama Ballet. The 2,633 seat performance hall is a classic proscenium theatre, featuring state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems to support world-class performance. Celebrating its 40th year, the grand theatre is being enhanced with a new rigging system and stage floor in order to continue to provide an excellent setting for all productions
