Established in 1969, SCP is a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality theater for the Sunnyvale community. SCP offers participatory performance and backstage support opportunities for both Sunnyvale residents and interested non-residents of all ages. Each year SCP produces four or five shows. Each of these shows draws cast, crew, backstage volunteers, and audience members from a wide range of local communities. These productions will use the talents of over 300 cast, crew, staff, and orchestra members and will entertain an expected audience in excess of 8,000.
The purpose of everything we do is to have a positive impact on the emotional, intellectual, and social development of young people who attend or partake in our many programs. For more than seventy years we have allowed children and youth to experience the transporting power of theatre that entertains, engages, and educates. Designed to stimulate the imagination, enlighten the mind and entertain the spirit, we are committed to presenting thought-provoking, extraordinary theatre, which we hope will play a crucial role in the development of lifelong learners. the children's Theatre continues to be a leader in offering young people not only fun but also grwowth and empowerment. Through exposure (attending plays) and immersion (taking classes, being in a production), our interest-based arts education classes in music, dance, and theatre offer a safe and creative place where children and youth can develop theatre and social skills. We produce plays for families and offer classes!

Just steps away from the Mountain View Shoreline movie multiplex ( but a whole world apart ), the Pear was created in June 2002 by a group of theatre artists who believe that Peninsula audiences are ready for plays that will challenge them, as well as delight and move them. The Pear offers audiences a theatrical alternative--intimate, startling productions that prove you can work wonders on a shoestring, as long as your spirit is willing and your imagination wide.Those of us who have come together in this venture have given our hearts and lives to the theatre. We are experienced actors, directors, writers, and teachers ( most of us wear a few hats ). Our goals are to produce new plays by local writers as well as innovative stagings of classics and less familiar works; to encourage playwrights to grow artistically through workshops, staged readings, and full productions of their plays; and to offer performance classes to both young people and adults.Above all, the Pear is a place where people come together to create. Writers collaborate with actors and directors to create art; audiences respond to performers and bring that art into the life of our community. At the Pear, everybody gets into the act. Join us!
