The Boston Symphony Orchestra works to foster and maintain an organization dedicated to making music with the highest aspirations of musical art, creating performances and providing educational and training programs. Education is an integral part of BSO s mission. BSO conducts youth and family concerts that introduces music into the lives of elementary, middle school and high school students. More than 60,000 students benefit from BSO s education programs. The BSO education staff also offers lesson plans and resource kits for K-12 teachers that include a list of composers and their compositions to enhance music education. The Tanglewood Music Center provides a unique, in-depth musical experience for emerging professional musicians of exceptional ability. BSO was founded in 1881 and has recorded pieces by Beethoven and several other composers.
Big Night Live is a premium live music venue that hosts international artists across multiple genres. Featuring as many as 30 VIP tables, LED walls, excellent sound system, a Mexican restaurant, VIP rooms with pod seating and many bars, this live music venue has set a bar for other venues in the city. Renowned artists like Steve Aoki, KSHMR, Dash Berlin, W&W and Danny Brown have graced this venue with their enthralling performances. With a capacity to host 2000 people, this concert hall can be rented for hosting private events as well.

Spontaneous Celebrations is a non-profit group whose mission is "to create and sustain a community cultural life that unites and empowers people for positive change through the arts." To this end, they throw a good party. Their spring Wake Up the Earth festival boasts music, dancing children, art, and a plethora of fried foods and craft items for sale. This annual festival dates back to 1979, when the I-95 extension was defeated, a win for Jamaica Plain and Roxbury, which would have been effectively destroyed by the project.
