Our cross street is Palm Ave. Our child care is open Monday through Friday, from 6am-6pm. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided at no additional cost. Transportation is provided to local schools at no additional cost. We transport to every school in the San Ysidro School district and also the South Bay Union School district . Every school in the 92154 including some Chula Vista Elementary Schools. All childcare programs accepted including NACCRRA Very affordable rates. You must come see us. We have fun summer activities, swimming programs and lots of field trips! We have one of the biggest yards in OVH. Call us for an appointment and mention you found us on YELP and we will waive the registration fee.
Infant Care, Toddler Care, Preschool My goal is to work closely with each individual family. We focus on the developmental goals of each child and work to form continuity between their home and our childcare. This consistency helps children to know what to expect and helps them to feel safe in exploring and expressing themselves. As your child joins our home, I will be helping them develop self-help skills. Every time a child is present in the moment and participating in a skill they are internalizing and making new connections to the world around them. These skills will promote independence, confidence, muscle growth, and coordination. Every day we learn through play. We take advantage of learning opportunities such as sorting balls by color, blocks by size, or simple addition while serving our food. Our Beezy Picassos will learn to respond to sounds and are exposed to a variety of colors, shapes and early ABC's nursery rhymes. Your child will learn to feed themselves, vocalize sounds, recognize pictures of familiar objects and acquire a variety of other important developmental skills. Daily Meals: Nutrition is an important factor of a child's growth. All of our meals are very carefully prepared in our kitchen. We provide all of our meals and snacks. Homemade everyday fresh, healthy meals. We are cautious and accommodate children with special diets. Our indoor main daycare room has 5 multi-functional areas; Electronic Learning Center, Storytime Circle, Imagination/Dramatic Play Section, Circle Time Mat, and a padded Infant Play area that is separate from the older children. We also have a large fenced backyard with a play structure, swings, ride-along toys and much more. In addition to holding and cuddling the infants and toddlers my self and assistants are always interacting with them to encourage their mental and physical development.
We are a child care center licensed for 44 children in the heart of Ocean Beach. We have started to introduce Montessori materials and and transitioning into fully bi-lingual, Spanish/English. Sorrento Valley Children's Center is co-owned and directed by Carol Burkhart and Elena Juarez. Carol Burkhart received her Master's Degree in Child Development from the University of Tennessee in 1976. After moving to San Diego, she directed a pre-school in the North County area for 5 1/2 years. Carol has instructed courses in Parent-Child Relations at Palomar Community College. She remains active in San Diego County professional organizations and is the past chair of The Week of the Young Child. Elena Juarez is a native San Diego. She received her Life Standard Elementary California Teaching Credential from San Diego State University in 1975. Elena has teaching experience with all grade levels through junior high. She developed several innovative programs for the Escondido Intersession Program before entering the field of Early Childhood Education. Elena taught in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten levels for 5 years before opening SVCC. Carol and Elena are proud to acquaint you with a carefully selected staff of qualified and dedicated professionals.
