Respite Care, Inc. is a nonprofit organization in Larimer County that provides short-term care for children with developmental disabilities, giving respite to parents and enhancing the quality of life for the entire family. Respite Care believes that a child with a disability is a child first and his or her challenges are secondary. With this mission and philosophy in mind, Respite Care strives to create an interactive and safe environment that meets the physical and emotional needs of each individual child.
We have over 30 years as a local, family-owned downtown child care center, and we pride ourselves in our creative, interactive, play-centered learning, nurturing teachers and low turnover rate.

We began in 1978 with a pilot program of 12 children in one classroom at a church facility. Today we enjoy over 16,000 square feet of Fun. Harmony School was built in 1931 and functioned as a grammar school for many years, then sat empty until we had the opportunity to make it our own. With 6 classrooms, music room, full-sized gym, and playground, we create new ways each year to experience the joys of learning, playing, and challenging preschoolers. At Harmony School we know that this will be your child's introduction to school. We want it to be a positive start that generates an eagerness for learning and confidence in social interactions. Our qualified staff demonstrates a sincere love for children and a committed desire to teach. Each child is considered special and unique. What makes us unique? We are not a day care facility. We are a school, so our emphasis is to focus on the whole child while challenging individual growth. There are 2 scheduled parent/teacher conferences to discuss the observed readiness and development of each child, offering direction and encouragement to parents. Experience. A child takes in more information between the ages of one to six than they do the remainder of their life. We know these formative years are critical to the development of your child’s creative talents, positive self-esteem, and enthusiasm for learning. Little People’s Landing provides a safe, nurturing environment for your child to grow and develop character. We believe that the pre-school experience prepares children academically, emotionally, and socially for elementary school. Additionally, we believe play is a vital element in a child’s learning experience. It is a medium for self-expression and an excellent time to develop their individual thinking processes. The giant fish tanks, portholes and a nautical themed décor, provide a dynamic setting for children to learn how to build their interpersonal skills.
