"Many Different Beliefs, One Loving Community" We meet on Sundays at 10:30 AM in-person at 2845 Mesa Verde Drive East, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 and online using Zoom. Worship means many things to each of us: community, music, learning, introspection, meditation, quiet, giving. Together we create this sacred place. You are invited to join us, to participate, to partake, to grow. And whether in person or on the other side of your screen we will join you.
We exist to help people know the love of God in Jesus and live it out in all their lives. We preach Jesus from the Bible. While you may learn some good things like historical background on the text, how to be a better person, or how to date or marry well, none of those are the primary purpose of preaching. Without Jesus, none of those things matter. Since Jesus is what we all need, and since the Bible is all about Him, we preach Jesus from the Bible every Sunday. Our Sunday gatherings are also shaped by the rich heritage of faith that has been handed down through the centuries, so we seek to use a modern liturgy. We sing hymns that are centuries old done in ways that are understandable to us in this time. We read creeds, catechisms, and responsive readings together because we believe God loves hearing his kids proclaim truth about him together.
Perhaps the best way to describe FWC is "a little country church set in the middle of an urban-chic county." We are a small, "boutique," family-style congregation, who are seeking to follow Christ in simple faith, worshiping our Lord honestly and with our whole beings. We try to live our dedication to Christ by engaging each other and the world around us in love while living godly lives. We want to learn from scripture responsibly and to obey the Holy Spirit courageously. We welcome you to worship with us. Our doors are open to you, Sundays, 10am at the the Balearic Community Center in Costa Mesa.
