Although its origins can be traced back to 1864, the Congregational Church of San Mateo prides itself in having adapted and grown to meet the needs of people today. While rooted in a deep faith in the word of Christ, the church and its congregants also accept the validity of other religions, scientific thought and contemporary knowledge wholeheartedly. The needs of a diverse and vibrant congregation are met through the organization and support of worship services, adult education, bible study, interest and community groups, outreach programs, social gatherings and social justice endeavors. The Congregational Church of San Mateo welcomes all with open arms to celebrate the glory of God and experience the transformational power of his love.
